Radiology Equipment Specialist

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Radiology Equipment Specialist responsible for the engineering, installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of complex imaging systems. The role involves planning and performing upgrades to various imaging equipment and collaborating on imaging systems projects to ensure stability and reliability.

Responsibilities

Responsible for engineering, installation, configuration, maintenance and support of several modalities of complex imaging systems to insure stability, reliability and acceptable performance
Provides functional and empirical analysis related to planning, design, installation and implementation of imaging systems infrastructure
Plans and performs upgrades to the imaging equipment and systems which may include MRI, CT, PET, FLUORO, mammography, digital X-ray, portable X-ray & fluoro, and ultrasound imaging technologies and systems in accordance with manufacturer?s specifications and Clinical Engineering procedures
Collaborates on imaging systems projects that range from medium to large in scope, risk and impact
Assists with strategic projects involved in evaluating and researching new and existing products, procedures and/or workflows needs associated with all imaging modalities for the Medical Center
Researches current and developing technologies to provide technical guidance pertaining to the capabilities, limitations and requirements of high technology imaging systems

Required

Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent degree program AND 3 years relevant experience with maintenance and repair of high technology imaging systems
Bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent degree program AND 2 years relevant experience with maintenance and repair of high technology imaging systems
For internal candidates: 2 years BMET experience in the OSUWMC CE Department AND demonstrated aptitude for imaging technology
This would be an entry level imaging position requiring subsequent extensive training in radiological systems

Preferred

Factory training with a major manufacturer of radiology system
CBET or CRES Certification
