Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist (EX)

Responsibilities
Supply Management: responsible for the inventory management, control and distribution of expendable inventory; ensures maximum effectiveness in the management of inventories; has oversight and accountability of the management plan for the commodity program; conducts effectiveness/efficiency reviews; oversees the computation of requirements for supplies; may serve as the approving official for approving reconciled purchase card transactions; oversees the care and handling of specialized items; prepares/reviews submissions to obtain approval or funding; and acts as the central point of contact for the coordination of commodity support and the resolution of logistics problems
Returns, Recalls and Reutilization: manages federal and agency programs for the return and reutilization of medical supplies; approves emergent procurement decisions; participates in root cause analysis process; and serves as the utilization and disposal official for excess consumables
Supervision: supervises employees from separate but interrelated units; makes recommendations for promotions, reassignments and awards; develops position descriptions and performance standards; conducts semi-annual and annual performance reviews; assists subordinate staff with performance issues; schedules and grants leave; monitors overtime usage; resolves informal complaints and grievances; develops the ability of subordinate staff; develops individual development plans for professional growth and development; coordinates and integrates various technical units to ensure compliance; conducts on the job training and in service training; and assesses training and educational needs and implements training programs
Performs other related duties as assigned

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement
For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09
Specialized Experience: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position
Specialized experience is defined as: planning, coordinating and executing an inventory and commodity management program; establishing procedures, overseeing and reviewing physical inventories and supply reconciliations; conducting data/information analysis for acquisition planning; planning and reviewing supply/inventory processes, functions and related systems; and exercising supervisory responsibilities to include planning, assigning and evaluating work and resolving complaints
Applicants may substitute education for specialized experience
Applicants must have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M. if related that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level
Applicants must possess equivalent combination of successfully completed education and specialized experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position
Driver's License Requirement: Incumbent must possess a current, valid state-issued driver's license for this position
The work is primarily sedentary and is usually accomplished while seated at a desk or table, typically in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office
Some standing, walking, bending and lifting (up to 40 lbs.) is required
Physical exertions including stretching, reaching and pulling or pushing cares occurs when assisting with inventories or activities involving retrieving items from shelves and cabinets
