Vertex is a global biotechnology company focused on tackling serious diseases and changing lives. They are seeking a Clinical Science intern who will gain meaningful experience in clinical development processes, including data analysis and trial conduct.

Responsibilities

The Vertex Clinical Science team is focused on bringing scientific rigor to the clinical development process for innovative therapies

The role spans many areas of the development process, from oversight of trial committees and key opinion leader (KOL) interactions in the clinical space, to analysis of trial data, creation and review of trial documents and day-to-day trial conduct

The CS intern will focus on learning the nuances of data analysis in a clinical trial setting

A summer intern in Clinical Science will have the opportunity to learn the basics of data analysis in a clinical trial/patient setting

They will be paired with an indication-specific team of current clinical scientists and trained by that team on the careful review and analysis of patient data necessary to conduct medical monitoring clinical data reviews (CDRs)

They will also learn the nuances of presenting analyzed data in a clear and straightforward manner via participation in the development of program-specific safety data dashboards

Required

Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Life Sciences, or another related field

Legal authorization to work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry level roles within this part of the organization

You must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before August 2026

You must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from May – August 2026
