High School Behavior Assistant (Immediate Hire or 26-27 School Year)

The High School Behavior Assistant will build positive relationships with students, address their emotional and mental well-being, and contribute to a positive school culture using restorative practices.

Primary/Secondary Education

Responsibilities

Proactively build meaningful, positive relationships with students
Work with teachers and school leaders to address student emotional and mental well being and needs
Uses restorative practices to contribute to positive school culture
In crisis situations, de-escalate and create a short-term plan to address immediate needs, dangers or threats
Effectively follow and use student behavior management systems; manage student behavior paperwork and trackers
Work collaboratively by maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships
Communicate frequently and effectively with student families; promptly return phone calls and answer emails

Required

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Substitute teaching license or higher equivalence (or willing to obtain within 30 days of being hired)
Strong understanding of restorative practices; ability to lead mediations (student-student; student-teacher; teacher-family; family-family)
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships
Eagerness and ability to receive and implement feedback from manager and peers
Ability to prioritize punctuality and attendance

Preferred

Knowledge of No-Nonsense Nurturer and/or 4-Step Model for student behavior management helpful, but not required
