Responsibilities

Assist the video team with research for video explainers, series and documentaries
Contact scientists and press officers to arrange interviews for videos
Assist the video team with producing shoots; for example, researching and writing interview questions and collaborating with crew and remote subjects
Assist the video team with edits, including working with archival material, selecting music tracks, and completing color and sound passes
Track and report on the latest trends on other science YouTube channels
Assist the video team with creation and strategy of vertical shorts
Perform other duties or tasks as assigned or required

Required

Candidates should be working toward a career in video, film, media or journalism
Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop is essential, and familiarity with Adobe After Effects is desirable
An enthusiastic interest in science and science communication
Strong writing skills
Good judgement of video quality with an understanding of animation, cinematography, editing, production and post-production processes that contribute to success
