Sales Business Development Representative
SoTalent is seeking a high-performing, growth-focused sales professional to expand new customer revenue and accelerate market penetration across both public sector and commercial accounts. This role is responsible for driving net-new business and developing scalable sales programs within the Los Angeles and greater Southern California territory.
Responsibilities
Own and execute a territory growth plan to consistently achieve and surpass revenue targets
Identify, qualify, and prioritize new business opportunities from inbound and outbound leads
Strategically route opportunities to appropriate sales partners based on deal size and potential
Conduct in-person meetings with prospective customers to present value-driven solutions
Develop compelling, customized presentations using marketing and sales enablement resources
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to generate new business
Design and present tailored pricing strategies for high-growth commercial accounts
Leverage cooperative purchasing agreements, bids, and education contracts to win and expand education customers
Ensure a seamless handoff of new customers to account management following close
Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals and activity metrics
Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasts, and activity tracking within CRM systems
Collaborate closely with sales leadership and peers to expand revenue beyond traditional product offerings
Build long-term, trusted advisor relationships that increase customer share of spend
Contribute positively to team culture by sharing insights, coaching peers, and leading by example
Travel throughout the assigned territory for customer meetings and events (approximately 50%)
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
5+ years of sales experience, including at least 6 months supporting public sector customers
Ability to travel extensively within the Southern California territory (~50%)
Must reside in or be able to support Los Angeles and surrounding areas in a remote capacity
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline
Demonstrated success in business development or new customer acquisition
