Quality System Manager
Uniiited is a high-complexity, engineering-driven precision machining organization supporting aerospace and defense programs. They are seeking a Quality Systems Manager to architect a Quality Management System that reflects operational realities and lead the organization through AS9100D certification and beyond.
Responsibilities
Lead the transition from ISO 9001 to AS9100D
Design, document, and deploy a practical, audit-resilient QMS, including: Policies, procedures, work instructions, records, and process maps
Conduct a full AS9100D gap analysis
Close gaps with emphasis on: Risk-based thinking, Configuration management, Product safety, Counterfeit parts prevention, Traceability and FAI discipline
Develop and execute an internal audit program
Prepare and lead Stage 1 and Stage 2 AS9100D certification audits
Serve as the primary interface with: Certification bodies, Customer and regulatory auditors
Drive root cause, corrective action, and preventive action to true effectiveness
Ensure no 'paper fixes'—systems must work on the floor, not just in binders
Embed AS9100D requirements into: New Product Introduction (NPI), AS9102 First Article Inspection and traceability, Engineering change control, Production, inspection, and nonconformance workflows
Partner closely with: Engineering, Manufacturing leadership, Quality inspection and CMM personnel
Establish and maintain strong controls for: Nonconforming material, RCCA / CAPA, Document and configuration management, Supplier quality and flow-down

Qualification
Required
Proven experience implementing AS9100D (not just maintaining or auditing)
Direct involvement leading a company through AS9100 certification
Background in aerospace and defense CNC machining environments
Strong working knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001
Strong working knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection and traceability
Strong working knowledge of document control and configuration management
Strong working knowledge of NCR, RCCA, CAPA, and audit response
Comfortable operating on the shop floor, not just in conference rooms
Able to quantify and enforce micron-level tolerances, not just millimeters
U.S. Person eligible for ITAR-controlled work
Preferred
Scaling a Quality Management System during growth or facility expansion
Supplier quality and outside-processing oversight
Experience implementing or improving digital QMS / eQMS systems
Background with tight-tolerance machined components
Background with complex structures or housings
Background with castings or aerospace structural parts
Experience working alongside CMM operators or programmers
Experience working alongside dedicated inspection teams
