New River Electrical Corporation is looking for a qualified Director of Technical Services to lead a newly established organization in the construction industry. The role involves driving excellence in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Design, with full P&L responsibility for external services and building a multi-disciplinary team for technical oversight on key projects.

Responsibilities

Define and implement the vision, strategy, and operational framework for Technical Services, aligning with corporate objectives and industry standards

Establish and maintain robust Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards

Lead the engineering and design function, ensuring designs meet safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness criteria

Manage financial performance for the Technical Services organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization. Grow the organization into a profit center

Partner with Operations / Project Management teams to ensure seamless integration of technical services across all phases of project delivery

Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, quality specialists, and technical experts to support multiple crafts

Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with design, quality, and commissioning activities

Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction

Serve as the primary technical liaison for internal leadership and external partners, ensuring transparency and alignment on project objectives

Travel for this position is required and will consist of overnight stays

Required

Leadership experience in the construction industry

Experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance

Strong background in Engineering and Design

Full P&L responsibility experience

Ability to build and manage a multi-disciplinary team

Experience in technical oversight for in-house and subcontracted work

Ability to define and implement vision, strategy, and operational framework

Experience in establishing and maintaining Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs

Ability to manage financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization

Experience in partnering with Operations / Project Management teams

Ability to identify and mitigate technical risks

Experience in driving process improvements and implementing best practices

Strong communication skills to serve as a technical liaison

Willingness to travel and stay overnight as required
