Field Operations Supervisor- Mansfield Region

Omni Fiber is seeking a Field Operations Supervisor with Telecom experience for outside plant fiber installation and overall field management. This role is accountable for supervising installation teams, ensuring quality control, safety, and customer satisfaction in fiber to the home projects.

Responsibilities

Accountable for site safety, quality, scheduling of technicians, ensuring quality control, maintaining a certain level of consumable materials to be used on jobs, fleet monitoring, and anything else related to the full field installation and repair process for the customer
This position is responsible for assuring availability of resources with proper expertise and tools to support assigned installation and service repair execution
Must be able to reconcile installation and repair activities and manage metrics in regard to team performance
A strong understanding of fiber installation practices and organizational skills is a must
Accountable for supervising the overall installation and service including, process implementation, quality assurance of work, safety of employees, scheduling, and customer satisfaction
Responsibilities in the roll include:
* Serves as single point of contact between the Area Manager and field
* Providing oversight of installation, service repairs, special projects, and overall operational functions and ensures proper execution
* Must be able to maintain and manage subcontractor relationships. Assuring that work is performed in accordance with contract requirements
* Must track and coordinate material delivery to field, ensure proper accountability of delivered materials to ensure costs are maintained
* Provide coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews for field operations employees. Ensure accurate and comprehensive performance evaluations are complete and on time. Evaluate subordinates' strengths and weaknesses and develop programs to improve their performance
* Reports performance data as required to management
* Identify and assess improvement opportunities, which will add value
* Supervise department expenditures to budgeted and forecast levels. Supervise overtime, contract labor for repairs, and materials issued for repairs. Ensure all associated contractor/vendor invoices are verified and correctly coded
* Regularly meet with the warehouse supervisor to ensure that adequate levels of materials are ordered and stocked in inventory to meet the requirements of the department activities
* Provide support to staff to be properly trained to meet certification levels for positions available. Motivate all personnel to perform their assigned duties with the highest degree of quality and efficiency at the same time promoting a safe work environment
* Meet field technicians and contractors at installation sites, inspect work to ensure the quality of the installations and service repairs are met and or exceeded. Provide feedback to employees and contractors on ways to improve their product and encourage continual improvement. Offer praise for work well done
* Prepare and distribute timely weekly and monthly reports

Required

3 years of relevant fiber to the home experience along with telecommunication industry experience required
Must be knowledgeable in quality fiber installation and service practices
A working understanding of supervising third party contract labor
Demonstrated ability to be consistent with performance management and goal attainment
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to work evenings and weekends as needed
