Vaco by Highspring is a growing company in the RTP area seeking a Director of Accounting to lead their accounting operations. This role combines day-to-day accounting and reporting with the opportunity to refine processes and develop the team.

Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, revenue, inventory, and fixed assets

Oversee cash flow management and daily treasury activity

Drive timely, accurate financial close processes and internal reporting cycles

Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal policies, maintaining a strong control environment

Manage external audits and support regulatory and tax-related requirements

Develop and refine accounting policies, procedures, and controls for scalability and efficiency

Hire, develop, and retain high-performing team members, with a focus on coaching and accountability

Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, and operational leaders to support planning and decision-making

Play a key role in systems initiatives impacting the accounting team, including systems enhancements or implementations

Lead technical accounting research and documentation as needed
