Responsibilities
Perform, and direct research and development efforts focused on Naval programs, developing innovative engineering concepts and design solutions
Conducting analyses, trade studies, modeling, and simulations to evaluate technical challenges and alternatives
Utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as MagicDraw
Supporting risk management, documentation, and interface control
Reviewing designs, drawings, and engineering change proposals to ensure compliance with Navy standards and engineering best practices
Assisting in developing key program documents including the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), and Configuration Management (CM) Plans
Supporting system safety and Operational Risk Management (ORM) assessments
Designing, fabricating, and testing hardware prototypes and integrated UMS systems to support government test and evaluation activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of relevant experience supporting defense research, design, and engineering programs
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and modeling tools such as MagicDraw or Cameo
Demonstrated ability to perform trade studies, simulations, and systems analysis
Strong understanding of DoD systems engineering processes and documentation standards
