Responsibilities

Select and prioritize stories that provide our viewers with a mix of news, talkers, and sports relevant to the Ozarks
Work with managers to execute the morning strategy that includes a mix of content from broadcast (traditional), website (fresh/visual), social media (interactive), and CTV (streaming app)
Write concise and conversational stories. Pace and energy are critical
Produce error-free work. Must be a stickler for details
Leads during severe weather and breaking news coverage
Communicate and collaborate professionally and respectfully with your coworkers

Qualification

Required

College degree in journalism or a related field, and experience with broadcast and digital storytelling
Must have a desire to win, a positive attitude, and the ability to reflect on your work and apply feedback
Ability to research and employ critical thinking skills to dig beyond the headline and verify incoming emails and news tips
Strong time management skills are essential. Work with urgency and accuracy
Must maintain composure, especially during breaking news or deadline pressure
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
