Directional Drill Foreman (Fiber Optic)
Aspire Communications is seeking an experienced and skilled Directional Drill Foreman to lead their telecom construction team. The role involves overseeing the safe and efficient operation of directional drilling equipment for fiber optic installation projects, managing equipment, coordinating with team members, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities
Inspect, grease, and maintain directional drill, minix, water truck (including pony motor and mixing system), mud vac, reel trailer, and drill head. Ensure all equipment is in good working condition
Fill water truck with water, confirm mud vac is empty, and help the locator prepare materials for the workday. Dig entry and exit pits, and set up the drill as required
Choose the appropriate drill head based on soil conditions observed during potholing. Follow locator’s instructions to drill bore and pull the product back once drilled
Monitor tailings to maintain correct flow, assist in sweeping the product into place, set up pedestals, and restore the work area post-operation
Fill out Job Safety Analysis (JSA), identify and communicate hazards to the team, such as proximity to traffic, trip and fall hazards, and ensure safety protocols are followed
Load and unload drills, excavators, and other equipment. Move equipment between job sites as needed
Qualification
Required
A positive can-do attitude with openness to innovative approaches and solutions
Expertise in operating trenching and excavation equipment for laying underground telecom cables
Proficiency in heavy machinery operation, including backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and directional drills
Ability to read utility maps, use utility locating equipment, and understand utility marking codes to avoid damaging existing utilities
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and work in all weather conditions
Valid driver's license required; Class A CDL preferred
Preferred
Previous experience in the telecom, utility, construction, or engineering industry is highly desirable
Class A CDL is preferred but not required
