GNC Engineer: Modeling Sim. & Analysis – Level 2 or 3 (Chandler) - R10215213
Northrop Grumman is a leader in technological advancements and is seeking a Guidance Navigation and Controls Engineer for their Space Sector in Chandler, AZ. The role involves designing and implementing flight software algorithms and simulation software for guidance, navigation, and control functions of launch vehicles and target vehicles.
Responsibilities
Support various launch vehicle, target vehicle, and business development programs
Design, develop, and implement flight software algorithms to support guidance, navigation, and control functions for the target or launch vehicle
Design, develop, and implement simulation software to test and verify mission requirements for the vehicle
Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality
Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space
Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for launch vehicles and/or spacecraft
Utilize excellent communication skills to report program milestones, technical approaches, and findings to GNC as well as program management
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master's degree with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
Experience with vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirements analysis in a flight software in simulation environment
Experience with C++, MATLAB, and Simulink
Bachelor's degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
Experience with vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirements analysis in a flight software in simulation environment
Experience with C++, MATLAB, and Simulink
Preferred
Bachelor's in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
Master's in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
Familiarity with rocket motor propelled vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirement analysis in a flight software in simulation environment
Experience with autopilot and guidance algorithm design and navigation and actuator subsystems
Experience with Simulink and the Linux operating system
Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher
