Lead, Diesel Procurement
Corning Incorporated is a leading innovator in glass, ceramic, and materials science. The Lead, Diesel Procurement role is responsible for ensuring reliable supply of materials and services to support plant operations while optimizing costs and managing supplier performance.

Responsibilities
Champion the corporate Global Buying Policy, ensuring compliance and educating plant end-users
Collaborate with GSM business supply managers and category managers to develop and execute short- and long-term strategic sourcing plans
Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives within the plant supply chain and support GSM-led initiatives
Ensure reliable supply of raw materials, packaging, consumables, spare parts, and MRO equipment for the plant’s continuous manufacturing operations
Prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with detailed specifications and terms
Conduct supplier negotiations to secure maximum value
Oversee inventory management, minimizing materials on hand and addressing obsolete or slow-moving items
Manage the integrated storeroom solution and develop strong relationships with suppliers
Own supplier relationship management, including performance measurement and corrective action
Provide procurement leadership to support plant initiatives and develop annual budgets for the procurement function
Provide guidance and leadership to direct reports
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a business-related concentration (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business Administration/Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics)
Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management, including sourcing, inventory management, and logistics
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience with systems such as PeopleSoft/PRISM, SAP, Ariba, or similar
Preferred
Supervisory experience is preferred
Experience as a plant or corporate buyer preferred
Relevant certifications (CPM, CSCP, CPIM, etc.)
Knowledge of SOX compliance
