Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer experiences to our diverse clientele
Process both business and individual banking transactions
Manage a cash drawer and cross-sell bank services
Perform comprehensive, prompt and efficient customer transactions
Trial balance cash drawer throughout the day and balance at close of shift
Report any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary
Receive cash and checks for deposit, verifying amounts and endorsements
Examine cash carefully to guard against counterfeit bills
Cash checks for customers in accordance with bank policy
Enter transactions into computer system and issue receipts
Assist customers with transactions and ATM operations
Provide accurate customer service to include balancing cash drawer throughout the day
Understand basic knowledge of deposit and lending products & services
Identify correct product types through needs-based questioning to build and deepen customer relationships
Demonstrate knowledge of bank products and services by referring them to corresponding business partners
Assist customers on electronic services and enter opportunities into customer information software
Serve as relief and/or backup teller in other locations of Midland States Bank
Timely completion of all assigned learning activities
Participate in weekly huddles and one-on-one coaching sessions
Demonstrate and model Midland States Bank core values that support the bank’s culture
Participate in bank-sponsored community activities
Effectively communicate with customers in both English and Spanish, ensuring clear and accurate responses
Translate and interpret documents and messages as needed
Occasional travel for training and team meetings within the market as needed
May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers
Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

Required

High School Diploma
Demonstrated proficiency in both English and Spanish
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and transport coin and currency bags as required (bags may weigh between 25lbs and 50lbs)
