Body Weld Pilot Sr. Engineer
Toyota Financial Services Corporation is a leading company in the automotive industry, seeking a passionate and highly motivated Equipment and Process Senior Engineer for their Body Weld Pilot Department. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead equipment and process development for new model projects, ensuring successful launch KPIs for safety, quality, productivity, and cost.

Responsibilities
Lead structure evaluation for the body panels during project development phase and support teaching design structure evaluation to other Body Weld pilot engineers
Lead evaluating body design of new models with consideration of reducing safety risk to team members, improving internal shop quality, manufacturability, and reducing impact to downstream shops, while meeting internal and external KPIs
Lead evaluations of equipment design specifications for new models to meet human design standards, deliver repeatable body accuracy, and meet productivity requirements
Communicate with multiple internal and external departments within Toyota, as well as machine vendors and contractors. This includes giving regular updates to manager and above for project status
Responsible for coordinating & managing all aspects of projects including OP management, budget justification, Ringi development, scheduling, installation and confirmation and final handover to production
Strategy development and direction setting for best practices and new systems that will strengthen Body Weld pilot procedures
Training and development of new Body Weld pilot engineers on all aspects of the pilot process, including body accuracy, structure evaluation, equipment development & installation
Qualification
Required
2-year degree (or higher) in manufacturing or engineering related field or 5 years of pre-production/manufacturing experience
Ability to provide direction to engineers on project management, process RJ (Ryohn Joken) setting and process production support on safety, quality and productivity issues
Experience working with Quality Engineering, Weld, Paint, or Assembly on projects or overall plant specific objectives
Experience in equipment specifications, design, install and validation
Proficient understanding of cross-functional collaboration between various groups in Body Weld
Intermediate knowledge in MS Office applications (Excel for analysis and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations and MS Project for schedules)
Strong analytical, critical, logical thinking skills
Experience managing multiple projects and tasks, and prioritizing work
Knowledge of body accuracy & part design impact to assembly & paint process
This position requires weekend work, holiday shutdown work, and confirmation support to allow for smooth restart of production
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that's acceptable by company standards is required for this position
Preferred
Experience directing, leading, managing, and mentoring a project team or Co-op
Experience working with supporting groups including TMNA Production Engineering, TMNA Quality Design, Materials Engineering Division and Toyota Technical Center (Design), and centralized maintenance
Proficiency in 3D Modeling experience such as CAD & CATIA, including the ability to read, interpret and modify drawings
Experience with the equipment Buyoff & kanban System
Body Weld Experience
Experience developing Ringi documents & managing capital projects
Experience reviewing body design and providing feedback to design
Understanding of body accuracy data, as well as steps to achieve
Experience with power applications / digital system development
