Supplier Quality Engineer

Martin-Baker America, Inc. is seeking a Quality Manager to oversee and direct their quality system ensuring products meet established standards. The role involves developing quality control objectives, managing compliance with quality standards, and leading a team to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the performance of all company quality functions including:
Establishment and maintenance of a Quality Management System (QMS) compliant with ISO 9001 and AS9100
Assessment of compliance to the company QMS
Responsible for providing trained personnel, operating infrastructure, and operational tools necessary for efficient and effective Quality System operation
Actively coaches and develops employees. Demonstrates leadership through communication, active listening, and commitment
Oversees the development of quality standards, protocols, receiving, and inspection systems
Function as primary contact between the company and the outside quality agencies such as the ISO registrar, the FAA, and DCMA
Develop and manage the departmental budget
Establish and maintain a system to ensure the currency of process specifications, product drawings, and military and commercial standards
Establish and maintain a system to archive product production records and records of customer inspection and acceptance
Function as the company's primary source of information concerning current quality techniques, applications, and methodologies
Coordinate with Purchasing on SQA methodologies to positively affect supplier performance
Responsible for continuous improvement opportunities in any or all the above with primary focus on: Efficiency of Quality System, Effectiveness of Quality System, Streamlining of documentation processing and control

Required

Must have experience in the function, management, and use of an Enterprise Resource System quality module
Must have a detailed familiarity with Department of Defense quality and material procurement requirements, practices, and organizations
Must be familiar with FAA quality organizations and requirements
Previous experience must demonstrate a high degree of creativity and wide latitude in execution of responsibilities
Position requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science or other technically related field
Minimum of ten years combined experience in leading manufacturing quality and purchasing organizations
Position requires the ability to make persuasive presentations to company executives, customers, suppliers, and external financial agencies in high stakes situations
Position requires the ability to clearly communicate information to subordinates, peers, and superiors
Position requires an in depth understanding of a broad range of quality functions, techniques, and organizational strategies such as Statistical Process Control, Taguchi Analysis, Design of Experiments, and similar techniques
Position requires an exceptionally high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Must have the ability to accurately understand and interpret complex analyses
Position requires demonstrated leadership skills necessary to develop and lead a team of hourly and salaried quality professionals
Ability to lead disparate groups of organizations and individuals not under direct control
Leadership skills such as employee development, employee counselling, and conflict resolution are a must
Position requires a demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage human capital and financial resources
Must be familiar with the use of tools and techniques to measure organizational effectiveness
Position requires the ability to manage the financial activities of the quality organizations including budget development and analysis
Position requires a strong ability to manage the activities of subordinates and the ability to discriminate when close supervision is required
Position requires demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with subordinates, peers, and high-performance executives
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and move about the facility
Occasional local travel is expected with this position
Overseas travel may be required for reviews with Martin-Baker Aircraft
The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields
