Responsibilities

Coordinates the preparation of construction drawings, sketches, projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements

Contributes in planning construction methods and procedures

Initiates requisitions for field purchases

Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment

Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required

Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely

Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities

Supports construction engineers, discipline superintendents, foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents

Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development

Builds system and area turnover packages both digitally and physically for turnover to startup and client

Required

Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience

Must be a US Citizen

Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education

Must be able to obtain a site security badge for access to the work site

Knowledge and experience of DOE, DOD and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is required

Candidates should be self-starters, highly motivated, requiring little supervision, and able to work well in a team environment

The candidate should have a good working knowledge of current design codes and standards such as UPC, IBC, SMACNA, ASME, NFPA as well as NQA-1 requirements

Knowledge of environmental compliance standards required on NNSA/DOE projects
