Responsibilities

Establish/maintain a strong research program (external funding, peer-reviewed scholarly work, national/international collaborations, mentoring of undergraduate/graduate researchers)

Teach/design transformative courses in and/or outside of ESM degree programs

Provide service to the Department, the College, the University, and nationally/internationally to their disciplinary communities

Qualification

Doctorate in Computer ScienceEducation-related disciplineResearch funding experienceTeaching experienceCross-disciplinary collaborationService effortsMentoring experience

Required

An Earned Doctorate In Either: Computer science or a related field (e.g., data science)/engineering/or another STEM-based field, with a demonstrated scholarly focus on education research

An Earned Doctorate In Either: Education-related discipline, with a demonstrated topical focus on engineering or computing

Preferred

Scholarly activity (e.g., grant funding, peer-reviewed publications and presentations) and capacity to lead research projects and teams

Teaching experience and quality, with potential for and interest in teaching at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels

Mentoring experience

Evidence of/potential for cross-disciplinary collaboration within FIU and with external partners

Service efforts, within and external to the institution
