Western States Equipment is offering the Western States CAT Technician Academy, an elite instructional program tailored to the heavy equipment industry. This 10-month program includes instructor-led training and labs, followed by a two-month paid internship, preparing students for a career as full-time technicians.

Responsibilities

Students will be educated in heavy equipment diesel theory including engine fundamentals, powertrains, machine hydraulics, fuel systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, preventative maintenance, and more
During the paid 2-month internship, students will work under the guidance of experienced technicians and mentors as they apply their education in one of our state-of-the-art facilities
Students must actively care about, promote, and advocate safety at Western States
Adheres to required personal protective equipment (PPE) practices as identified in WSECO safety policies

Required

High school diploma or GED
Positive learning attitude
Eagerness to understand and align with the Western States Values of Safety, Excellence, Teamwork, Accountability, and innovation
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to walk, sit, repetitively climb stairs, reach (including but not limited to above-shoulder reaching), bend, stoop, push, pull, lean and twist
Exposure to extreme temperatures and environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in accordance with Western States' Lifting Policy
Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies
