Vice President Programs

The Next IT Girl is a technology education nonprofit focused on introducing young women to multidisciplinary tech careers. The VP of Programs is responsible for evaluating current program models and developing a scalable framework for growth, ensuring the organization can expand its impact over multiple years.

Responsibilities

Work closely and collaboratively with the CEO to lead, develop, and support The Next IT Girl’s strategic program growth
Conduct a comprehensive review of IT Girl Clubs and related programming
Observe and assess program delivery across multiple cities
Analyze program data, systems, and staffing structures to identify strengths and risks
Conduct market research on technology education programs and trends across multiple cities
Strategize opportunities for earned revenue through programming
Develop a clear, documented program expansion framework and growth roadmap
Define what program elements are standardized versus adaptable across cities
Support leadership decision-making related to future program scale and sustainability
Identify funding, fundraising strategies to sustain program growth
Oversee and advise program design, curriculum development, and content delivery across all program offerings
Champion equity-centered program design that lowers barriers and serves underrepresented students and communities
Collaborate and advise with the Executive Director and Program Director through structured recommendations and deliverables on strategic planning, priority-setting, and resource allocation for programs
Ensure consistent program quality, participant satisfaction, and outcome achievement across all offerings
Refine and implement standard operating procedures for program lifecycle management (design, recruitment, delivery, evaluation)
Refine and monitor program budgets, expense tracking, and cost-effectiveness for programs
Design and implement comprehensive program evaluation frameworks measuring outputs and outcomes
Analyze program data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement
Lead quarterly program reviews assessing effectiveness, participant satisfaction, and goal achievement
Translate lessons learned insights into program improvements and best practices

Required

At least 10+ years of experience in a c-suite, senior leadership position
Demonstrated success designing, launching, and scaling high-impact programs serving diverse communities
Experience with technology education and/or youth supporting organizations
Track record of creativity and capacity for strategic thinking and planning
A strong passion for the nonprofit's mission and commitment to creating a positive impact within the community
Flexibility for stakeholder school visits, occasional chapter city travel, community events, and meetings
Excellent organizational and management skills to oversee multiple programs simultaneously
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to build relationships and represent the organization professionally
Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate effectively
Ability to receive feedback and engage in continuous self-improvement
Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly-changing work environment
Firm belief in personal accountability, producing measurable outcomes, and sustaining high expectations
Experience with grant reporting and compliance for foundation and/or government funders
Strong financial acumen including budget management, cost-benefit analysis, and program sustainability
Excellent team leadership, coaching, and staff development skills
Experience with program evaluation, data analysis, and outcomes measurement
Strong project management skills with ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities

Preferred

Familiarity with local technology or education resources and networks within the community is advantageous
Experience with accelerator and capacity building programs, cohort-based learning models, or entrepreneurship training
