Electrical Engineer II - FPGA Mission Systems (Onsite)

Responsibilities
Requirements capture, ASIC / FPGA digital architecture and design using RTL, verification, and system integration
Be involved in design, implementation, verification, and integration of a wide variety of high-performance digital ASICs and FPGAs
This position will have an emphasis on PCB and system-level design incorporating analog and digital functions
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design for new products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met
Experience in designing digital and analog products including FPGA systems, low-power supplies, motor controls
Experience creating engineering and production test procedures
Experience with debugging and root cause investigations on hardware using hardware schematics, integrated FPGA vendor debug tools, and digital lab equipment
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Preferred
Experience using ASIC and/or FPGA design tools (e.g. Modelsim, Questa, Mentor Graphics/HDL designer, Libero, Quartus, Vivado or other FPGA-specific tools, Xpedition)
Ability to work with minimal supervision, team with engineers of a variety of skills and backgrounds, and matrix into projects with aggressive schedules and frequent milestones
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to document and present one's work and status
Digital circuit architecture and resource tradeoffs
Experience with PCB design tools
Experience with supporting factory builds of PCBs and assemblies
Experience in requirements generation, validation, allocation and traceability
Familiarity with the signal processing system simulation & analysis tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink)
Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Git, Subversion)
