Responsibilities

Generating assembly plans and processes that focus on customer requirements, efficiency, and quality
Designing tools and equipment for assembly, inspection, and shipping
Writing instructions to direct and document the assembly and delivery of hardware
Assembling hardware based on written instructions and engineering drawings
Providing technical support for assembly technicians
Communicating and working with multiple lead project engineers on multiple projects
Operating assembly and test equipment
Managing the safe packaging and shipment of hardware
Supporting customer meetings and visits
Overseeing material control activities (component receiving, inspection, cleaning, kitting, and traceability)
Supporting failure analyses and investigations
Fostering process and safety improvements

Qualification

B.S. Degree in EngineeringMechanical assembly experienceProficient in CADMicrosoft WordMicrosoft ExcelMicrosoft Power PointEffective communication skillsRead engineering drawings3D printing toolsGD&T understandingOperating thermal chambersOperating vacuum chambersUsing digital multi-metersUsing power suppliesInterpersonal skillsOrganizational skillsTeam-based skills

Required

B.S. Degree in Engineering OR a high school diploma, 2 year approved technical degree or formal training equivalency and at least 5 years of mechanical assembly experience
Strong interpersonal and team-based skills
Ability to work directly from engineering drawings, sketches and verbal instructions
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
Proficient in CAD (Solidworks is preferred but not required)
Effective oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills

Preferred

Ability to print basic assembly tools and equipment in 3D
Proficient in generating drawings from CAD Models
Solid understanding of GD&T
Experience operating thermal and vacuum chambers, digital multi-meters and power supplies
