E Ink Corporation is a pioneer in ePaper technology, seeking a creative and motivated Research Scientist/Engineer to join their Billerica Research & Development team. The role involves conducting advanced materials research, developing test methods, and supporting new display product development to enhance electrophoretic display technologies.

Responsibilities
Ownership of and responsibility for initiating, directing, and executing research of drive schemes, including hardware, for performance optimization and new product development
Design and execute electro-optical experiments to characterize display performance
Develop algorithms and drive schemes for general understanding of how displays work and to guide development of new display materials
Develop new electro-optical tests and instruments, including hardware, control electronics, and automation software to support R&D and product development across global teams
Develop plans to achieve technical goals and to align them with corporate priorities
Work with and contribute to an agile, inspiring and supportive team to rapidly advance project goals and actively pursue contingency plans
Create and document intellectual property
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Applied Math or a related field, or M.S. plus 2-5 years of industrial experience
Expertise in one or more of the following or related areas: optimization methods, hardware and electronics, machine learning tools, computational physics, and signals and systems
Experience analyzing complex systems using advanced mathematical methods for solving practical problems
Proven ability to design, build, and validate embedded systems and complex electronics for electrical or electro-optical test systems from concept to deployment
Proficiency with electronic lab tools (oscilloscope, multimeter, function generator, soldering equipment, power supplies etc.), data analysis and automation software
Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions
Self-directed, motivated, and hands-on personality. Ability to work in a fast-paced, open-minded, highly interdisciplinary work environment. Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Experience with electrokinetic phenomena in complex fluid system
