Pipeline Engineer

Responsibilities

Analyze pipeline operational data and work with the pipeline scheduler and pipeline controller to make adjustments in pump selection and DRA injection rates to ensure efficient execution of pumping schedules. This will include the analysis, documentation, and correction of abnormal operations and equipment malfunctions
Coordinate changes and additions to the pipeline SCADA system with the control center SCADA specialist and the pipeline technicians
Review operating parameters of station equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation, including PLC program set points and control logic, pump operating data and the use of the MOC (Management of Change) process
Ensure the operations and maintenance manual is up to date, meets all regulatory requirements, and reflects the current operation of the pipeline, including knowledge and background in welding procedures, tank operation and inspection, and cathodic protection
Administer the Bridger Operator qualification plan. Monitor the effectiveness of the plan, ensuring pipeline personnel maintain their required qualifications through the completion of covered task evaluations, and ensuring documentation of evaluations are complete. Evaluations will be coordinated with field supervisors
Provide project management for construction projects ranging from conceptual design, budgeting, equipment specification and procurement to completion of job files and compilation of construction records. Projects will include new pipeline construction, pipeline rehabilitation, pump station and terminal construction
Assists with Integrity Management projects, regulatory oversight and support for day-to-day pipeline operations
Serve as a liaison with Federal Regulators during inspections
Participate in a safety program including completion of CBT modules on safety and procedural topics

Required

A Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, electrical or petroleum engineering with three (3) years of experience in pipeline engineering; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
Experience with SCADA systems, satellite communication networks, and pipeline control center operations
Working knowledge of pipeline automation using PLC's
Working knowledge of all Federal pipeline regulations and applicable codes and standards
English language fluency, verbal and written
Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test

Preferred

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel and Word
Experience with CAD software, preferably Solidworks
Professional registration is preferred but not required
