Responsibilities
Responsible for performing functions as authorized under the direct supervision of an echocardiography tech
In addition, performs basic echocardiography through TTEs (trans thoracic echo) scans to include patient care, reporting patient conditions, circumstances, and maintaining equipment and unit cleanliness
The Clinical intern must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit
Conditions: May be required to work irregular schedules. Potential exposure to hazardous materials/situations to include but not limited to, blood-borne pathogens, ionizing radiation, and communicable diseases
Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing in a Sonography Program
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program with an anticipated program completion within 24 months from the date of hire
Preferred
Registered Cardiac Sonographer
