Responsibilities

May assist in planning and coordinating the manufacturing process
Capable of writing Work Instructions
Able to participate in work area layouts
Able to produce spaghetti diagrams and process flow charts
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
Ensure that all related policies and practices comply with company, customer, and regulatory standards and agreements Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor
Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CBI policies and procedures
Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas
Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented

Required

Must possess multilevel experience in CNC machining, forging, casting, sheet metal fabrication, punch press operation, progressive tool design, transfer press operation, deep drawing stainless steel, heat treating, automation of secondary machining operations with emphasis on tapping, thread rolling, and thread locking operations, as well as automation of assembly operations
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
3-5 years of experience in a related field, industry or work environment is required
Sufficient machining skills to produce prototypes and tooling
Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other electronic drafting program
Proficiency in using SolidWorks is required
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Ability to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms
Ability to walk and sit
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception

Preferred

Fastener industry background with knowledge of military aerospace standards is desirable
P.E. certification, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification, CMfgT or CMfgE (SME) certifications preferred
