Sr. Principal Electro-Optical Subsystems Engineer
Raytheon is dedicated to helping the nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression through advanced engineering expertise. They are seeking a Sr. Principal Electro-Optical Subsystems Engineer to perform a range of engineering tasks related to infrared missile seekers and guidance subsystems, including developing simulations and conducting analyses to characterize EO performance. The candidate will lead small teams and work across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure design integrity and operational performance.

Work independently, with little supervision
Develop a network and know when to use it to get help
Ensure proper engineering discipline is applied to all designs
Provide the best technical solution within cost and schedule constraints
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience with EO simulation, analysis, and/or hardware laboratory testing
Experience using Computer Analysis Tools (such as: MatLab, IDL, or MS Excel)
Experience with EO hardware (such as: detectors, optics, cryogenic systems, gimbal platforms, video electronics or lasers)
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
Experience with space-based EO subsystems
Experience with missile EO products
Good verbal, written and presentation skills
Have an engineer's curiosity, and desire to learn and grow
A current Top-Secret DoD security clearance
A Master of Science degree in EE, Optics, Physics, or Systems
Ability to produce high-quality technical reports
Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams to develop technical solutions for missile EO products in a leadership capacity
Experience in systems engineering including requirements development, requirement validation, and subsystem trade studies
