Working closely with teammates, contractors, and leadership to ensure safety compliance
Promoting workplace safety by identifying and controlling potential hazards
Developing and/or reviewing safety programs to determine their adequacy
Being on call 24/7
Safety and health training and auditing
Qualification
Required
4-Year Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field; and/or equivalent years of experience
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Steel Nebraska will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future)
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
Preferred
First Responder/EMT certification or willingness to obtain
Industrial Hygiene and Behavior-Based Safety experience
Safety training experience and certification (30-hour, fall protection, LOTO, etc.)
OSHA Voluntary Protection Program experience
