Supervisor - Payroll
GLOVIS America, Inc. is a third-party logistics provider headquartered in Irvine, CA, committed to delivering quality service in the logistics industry. The Supervisor - Payroll position is responsible for developing and maintaining the payroll system, conducting biweekly payroll for all GLOVIS locations in the continental United States, and assisting with 401K administration and reconciliation.

Responsibilities
Verifies, calculates and posts employee time and attendance data and earnings including base pay, overtime, shift differential and other incentives
Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies
Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from time sheets and other records
Processes individual salary/wage or other changes affecting employee payroll status including new hires, transfers, terminations, paid or unpaid leaves of absence, and related actions
Inputs vacation and sick pay accruals
Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
Monitors payroll expenditures to ensure appropriate account charges, identifies and implements corrective action for any variances
Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records
Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans, and collective agreement provisions
Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process
Develop standardized payroll procedures and processes based on company policies
Ensure compliance with State and Federal wage laws
Prepares reports summarizing earnings, taxes, deductions used to create monthly journal entries, quarterly and annual tax verification and w-2 balancing & reconciliation
Reviews and balances reports to hours taken during pay period
Provide payroll information and ad-hoc payroll reports
Meets payroll financial standards by providing payroll information for the annual budget process
Prepare weekly and monthly payroll reports for the finance department
Develop standardized reporting as needed
Review and resolve outstanding items as noted by the Accounting department
Coordinate year-end processes
Balance payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies
Assists with managing payroll guidelines by writing and updating payroll procedures with guidance from the HR Manager
Updates and maintain payroll systems as needed or as directed by HR Manager
Oversee 401K administration and reconciliation as needed
Ad-hoc projects and reporting as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelors Degree
5 - 8 Years of Direct Experience in Payroll
3 Years of Indirect Experience
1 - 3 Years of Supervisory Experience
Strong communication, critical thinking, planning and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Advanced Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database management
Ability to logically and systematically work through problems
Must possess necessary interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with different departments along with current customer
Strong analytical skills
Preferred
Master's Degree
6 - 9 Years of Direct Experience
4 Years of Indirect Experience
Experience in Human Resources
4 - 7 Years of Supervisory Experience
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
