Responsibilities
Develop and enforce procurement contract policies, playbooks, and templates in lockstep with our counterparts in orgs such as Legal, Third Party Risk (TPRM), Finance
Support KPIs (contract cycle time, compliance rates, etc) and present routine performance
Maintain clean documentation and support SOX/internal audit processes
Personally lead business term negotiations for strategic, high-value or high-complexity contracts through the full procurement contract lifecycle. Securing optimal outcomes in areas such as SLAs, scope, exit clauses, payment terms, auto renewals, etc
Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure contracts meet business needs. Translate business requirements into enforceable contract language while preserving supplier relationships
Exceptional communication skills with ability to explain contract terms clearly to stakeholders
Establish yourself with stakeholders as the frontline of contracts and information security - buffering any inquiries that currently go directly to our Legal and TPRM teams
Partner with legal and help develop criteria for contracts that could be executed without Legal engagement, reducing redline cycles by 50% though pre-approved clause libraries
Collaborate with legal on developing and maintaining fallback positions. Highlight any redlines outside of our fallback positions to Legal for their review
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or related field; JD strongly preferred
10+ years in procurement/contract management
Proven track record closing complex, multi-year deals with global Tier-1 suppliers
Deep experience embedding information security and data privacy terms into commercial agreements
Prior in-house collaboration with General Counsel and CISO offices
Master negotiator comfortable at the executive table; able to articulate ROI of contractual positions
Proficiency with CLM platforms (Ironclad), Procurement platforms (Zip)
Executive presence with exceptional communication, influence, and change-management capabilities
Preferred
Experience in a high-growth tech or marketplace environment, such as e-commerce or Saas platforms
