Industrial Engineering Intern
Redwood Materials is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling. They are seeking an entrepreneurial Industrial Engineer Intern to support commercial scale production and process optimization during Summer 2026.

Responsibilities
Monitor, evaluate, and analyze current systems and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Develop and implement process improvement strategies using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
Conduct and audit time and motion studies (work measurement) to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement
Collaborate with teams to design and improve systems and processes
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
Prepare and present reports on improvements and operational performance
Qualification
Required
Current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, industrial, systems, etc)
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other improvement methods
Strong organizational and project management skills
Detail-oriented with an analytical and structured approach to problem solving
Software proficiencies: Microsoft Office, 2D CAD, any linear programming software, discrete event simulation software
Preferred
Background in operations research a plus (eg: linear programming, simulation, etc)
Experience with statistical data collection, analysis, and reporting
