They are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Backend-focused) to build and scale core systems for a consumer AI platform, offering end-to-end ownership of backend initiatives and collaboration with leadership.

Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate production-grade backend services and distributed systems on AWS and/or GCP
Architect data storage and retrieval across vector databases, OLAP systems, SQL/NoSQL databases, caching layers, and search technologies
Own backend projects end-to-end, including system design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing reliability
Implement robust observability practices, including monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting
Design and maintain automated testing frameworks for deployment and runtime failure scenarios
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform
Ensure backend systems meet high standards for performance, stability, and security
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience as a software engineer with a strong backend focus
Exceptional candidates may be 1–2 years out of school with clear signals of excellence
Proven track record owning backend projects end-to-end
Full-stack experience building and owning complex systems
Experience building new functions or features at scaling companies
Clear signal of technical excellence distinguishing them from other strong engineers
Experience with AWS and/or GCP
Strong understanding of distributed systems
Familiarity with data persistence systems (vector DBs, OLAP, SQL, NoSQL, cache, search)
CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
Observability and system reliability practices
Extreme ownership: able to take projects from concept to production independently
Comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-pressure, early-stage environments
Strong collaboration with founders and small elite teams
