Responsibilities
Review plans and specifications for construction of new dams and rehabilitation of existing dams
Ensure compliance with permit requirements
Inspect dams as needed
Draft enforcement documents
Review inspection reports and technical documents
Manage and update database information
Perform office and field work
Travel including some overnight stays
Hike to remote dam locations and walk up and down steep slopes of the dam for inspection purposes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in agricultural, chemical, civil, environmental, civil-sanitary or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university
Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts
Good technical writing skills
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Current, valid driver's license
Ability to do some hiking to remote dam locations
Ability to walk up and down steep slopes of the dam for inspection purposes
Comfortable working near water and marshy areas
Preferred
Experience with inspection of dams
Experience in dam safety activities
Experience with land surveying
Experience in the interpretation and application of state and federal regulations
Possess a Civil or Environmental Engineering Degree
Possess the Engineer in Training certification or are registered as a Professional Engineer
Experience with hydraulics and hydrology
