Korn Ferry has partnered with a large U.S. refining and energy supply organization in search of a Risk Analyst – Commercial Risk & Pricing. The role focuses on daily risk exposure analysis, mark to market reporting, and control oversight for Supply & Trading activities.

Responsibilities

Publish daily mark to market P/L and risk exposure reports for assigned trading portfolios to front office and executive management
Monitor P/L and risk positions against internal limits and controls, escalating issues as needed
Provide clear commentary explaining daily P/L movement, including curve shifts, new trades, and changes in deal activity
Support accurate measurement and validation of pricing, curves, and risk positions within the ETRM system
Investigate valuation discrepancies, troubleshoot pricing issues, and support value at risk analysis for assigned portfolios
Partner closely with front, mid, and back office teams, including traders, schedulers, accounting, and finance, to ensure accurate and timely risk reporting
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within risk reporting, including development of new tools, automation, and deployment of new technologies
Serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced analysts, supporting training and development in risk processes and systems
Maintain strong ETRM system expertise and a thorough understanding of valuation inputs and risk controls

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field
2–7+ years of professional experience in Finance, Accounting, Risk, Operations, or Trading, ideally within a commodity trading environment
Strong understanding of mark to market accounting, risk exposure measurement, and valuation concepts
Comfortable working in a fast paced, cross functional trading floor environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain risk and P/L drivers to diverse stakeholders

Preferred

Master's degree (MBA, Energy Risk Management, Data Analytics, or similar) may substitute for experience
Proficiency with ETRM systems (ION RightAngle or similar) and analytics tools such as Power BI or Alteryx
