The Senior Building Systems Specialist will organize, oversee, and manage the acquisition, development, and ongoing management of building systems for County facilities as part of the Capital Asset Preservation Program.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and manage complex construction and maintenance programs to include major facilities maintenance and infrastructure replacement projects

Execute assigned projects, meeting timeline, and budget goals

Manage the development of building assessments

Develop pre-designed programs and professional services, and construction contract scopes of work

Establish facility maintenance and repair programs to ensure safe and effective use, and to enhance the longevity of the facility

Ensure work is executed in accordance with approval plans and specifications

Oversee contractors to ensure all agreement requirements are achieved

Inspect construction sites and hold progress meetings with contractors

Utilize the Asset Management System to assist with project planning and asset procurement

Possess a strong understanding of the trades

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science, or related field (prefer Master's degree) with coursework in HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical system design

Four (4) years of related work experience managing the engineering, operations, and maintenance of complex building systems or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Background and proficiency in Mechanical Systems and/or MEP Trades (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Prior experience utilizing Asset Management System(s)

Professional certifications such as: Project Management Professional (PMP), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), Certified Facilities Manager (CFM), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
