Radio Engineer II
Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Radio Engineer II with a large power and utilities client. The role involves engineering and designing plant radio systems, providing technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise to solve complex radio problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in Radio Communications
Provide technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in Radio Communications
Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities
Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and engineering designs
Understands FCC licensing and the requirements for filing and updating licenses
Conducts engineering and related studies to include interference and coverage maps
Works on multiple projects simultaneously
Design, develop, document and test hardware and/or software systems ranging from the straightforward to extremely complex
Estimate, track, own and report status relating to technical, cost and schedule performance for assigned scope of work
Create and run verification and validation tests for products and sub-systems of moderate complexity
Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university plus a minimum of five years of experience in Radio Engineering
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of radio experience
Experience with Microsoft family of applications like Word, Excel, and Visio
Ability to work well within a team; good interpersonal relational skills
Effective verbal & written communication
Experience in coordination with multiple groups, companies, and people simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to work productively with little direct supervision
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to be NERC-CIP certified and maintain the NERC-CIP access over time
Willingness and ability to learn new skills
Adherence to Change Management practices
Strong interpersonal skills to support successful performance in a team environment
Preferred
Individual should have deep knowledge and well-developed technical expertise in Radio Communication
Experience in the utility industry
Understanding of basic principles of project management
Experience with FCC licensing request, prerequisites and processes
Experience with intermodular frequency studies
Experience requesting tower structural analysis work
Ability to perform engineering packages and designs as well as hands on work with the configuration and implementation
Familiarity with radio code plugs and their creation
