Responsibilities
Working as part of a team of software engineers and quantitative researchers
Analyzing algorithm performance
Leverage quantitative techniques and market microstructure understanding to optimize and existing models
Propose new algorithms to better capture market liquidity and backtest using tick data
Working with software engineers to reconcile between real world performance versus backtested performance
Build ongoing monitoring of algorithm performance
Performing any or all of the above responsibilities for, or in support of, PEAK6 HC Holdings LLC or any of its affiliates, including, but not limited to, PEAK6 Group LLC
Qualification
Required
Have completed a Masters or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Financial Engineering, or other related quantitative field
2+ years of experience working in trading
Familiar with various statistical tests
A demonstrated track record of applying modeling techniques to real-world problems
The ability to collaborate with software engineers at a detailed level
Experience working with large, noisy, or incomplete data sets and investigating underlying data issues
Good English language communication skills
Occasional travel may be required
Preferred
Focus on electronic algorithmic execution preferred
Knowledge of market impact models a plus
Programming experience, Python preferred
