Responsibilities
Optimize product flow while facilitating the development of high performance teams within the plant
Manage a product Value Stream, including planning, manufacturing, and continuous improvement
Create a culture of engagement within and between teams to meet plant objectives and deliverables
Ensure high performance teams work collaboratively in decision-making processes aligned with plant goals and objectives
Coordinate and oversee all activity in one or more manufacturing departments to deliver results in safety, profitability, quality, service, efficiency and cost reductions while maintaining a positive work climate
Initiate, participate, and lead programs and projects geared toward meeting current and future customer demands
Focus on improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency through a culture of excellence and accountability
Coach and mentor by influencing behaviors to improve individual, team and plant performance
Implement key succession plans and employee development activities to create a strong team bench
Lead programs to create a team based work environment at all levels of the organization
Drive operational excellence using lean six-sigma principles
Promote technical and innovative leadership in product and processes
Establish appropriate shop floor based manufacturing systems, controls, and metrics to track results, quality and service
Continuously assess the operational area and collaborate with the leadership team to develop strategic plans
Ensure operations comply with all government regulations related to product safety, employee safety, and environmental standards
Participate in cross-facility initiatives to determine company-wide best practices and improvement of business processes
Review cost and budgetary commitments to deliver financial commitments while achieving customer expectations
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in engineering, management or a related discipline is required
5-7 years of applied professional experience working in production in an industrial/manufacturing environment
An extensive background in the manufacturing/production field, in addition to a thorough understanding of business (marketing, customer service, finance) is required
Strong leadership skills with the ability to positively influence others and manage change within a diverse manufacturing operation encompassing up to three (3) shifts with diverse processes and products
Effective change management and conflict management skills; implementer of cultural change who can build a strong organization with emphasis on process, maintenance and engineering
Driven, inquisitive, commanding, and hands-on problem-solving traits
Proven ability to plan and implement at both strategic and operational levels
Demonstrated ability to building teams within, across and through all organization levels
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Travel is approximately 5%
Preferred
Master's degree a plus
