PTR Global is a leading provider of information technology and workforce solutions. They are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe CICS Engineer to manage CICS engineering and provide support in a large-scale Sysplex environment.

Responsibilities

Manage all phases of CICS engineering, including system and software maintenance
Provide support for CICS in a 24x7 large-scale Sysplex and CICSPlex environment
Collaborate with application developers and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and performance
Perform CICS performance tuning, debugging, and dump analysis
Utilize tools such as Sysview for CICS and CICS Performance Analyzer for monitoring and tuning
Support on-call duties and maintenance outside of normal working hours to resolve issues
Implement and customize CICSPlex SM, including dynamic transaction routing
Maintain and optimize CICS resource definitions and parameters for performance

Required

Proficiency in SMP/E, software upgrades, and maintenance
In-depth knowledge of CICS parameters and performance control in a CICSPlex environment
Experience with CICS SMF record structure and performance analysis tools
Strong skills in problem determination, dump analysis, and performance tuning
Knowledge of COBOL to support application developers
Experience with Mainframe WebSphere MQ
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred

Assembler, COBOL, and REXX coding with knowledge of CICS Exits
Experience with web application support in a CICS TS V6.x environment
Understanding of zOS facilities such as APF, Linklist, VSAM, LPA, RLS, and Coupling Facility
Utilization of CICS Configuration Manager
Working knowledge of zOS & CICS Explorer
Understanding of CICS REST Services
Prior application programming experience is a plus
