Professional Engineer - Stormwater

Responsibilities

Performing construction project management and professional civil engineering work to evaluate Stormwater-related issues and develop the scope, schedule, and budget for Stormwater infrastructure capital improvement projects to address these issues
Ability to meet pressing deadlines and manage contracts; A significant amount of contact with the public will be required. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively with City officials, residents, commercial entities, and other agencies
Exceptional customer service, time management, communication, and writing skills are essential to address telephone, email, and public inquiries
Reviewing consultant Plans and Specifications to Ensure project compliance with appropriate Federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations
Prepare, review and evaluate construction bids, cost estimates, change orders and related financial impact analyses
Providing direct support to the Engineering Manager and assisting in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, goals and objectives and making recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures

Required

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related field
Four (4) years of professional civil engineering experience, two (2) of which must be related to stormwater management/drainage and infrastructure capital improvement projects
Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer within the State of Texas within six months of employment
Valid driver's license

Preferred

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Highly familiar with fundamental principles, practices, and techniques of Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage and civil engineering
Experience with FEMA and other federal agencies regulations and permitting
