InternPenn State University is seeking a Facility Maintenance Intern for their Applied Research Laboratory (ARL). The intern will assist with maintenance tasks, supervise visitors and contractors, and ensure safety on site while working up to 20 hours a week during the academic semesters.

Responsibilities
Provide ARL supervision and oversight of visitors, design professionals, and contractors
Perform tasks associated with renovations, maintenance, and/or specialized facility services
Act as a customer safety representative on various work sites; ensuring a safe work environment is realized for employees and visitors
Maintain knowledge of ARL Security practices and procedures
Serve as a work site liaison with ARL Facilities and Security to ensure visitor logs are kept current
Ensure visitor logs accurately reflect contractors performing maintenance, renovations, or direct services to ARL buildings, infrastructure, grounds and/or equipment
Qualification
Required
Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment); including hard hat, high visibility vest, and safety glasses for an 8 hour shift
Ability to obtain a government security clearance
Must be a U.S. citizen to apply
Successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen
