Accounting Assistant
Sherman Mechanical, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Assistant responsible for full cycle project accounting for new construction projects. The role involves utilizing accounting software, managing billing processes, and collaborating with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking.

Responsibilities
Utilize accounting software to input projects- including cost code alignment, invoice posting, and revenue tracking
Progress billing for construction projects (G702/703 experience helpful)
Contract and change order oversight and management within accounting system
Create and process lien waivers
Retainage release follow through and accountability
Collaborate with project managers/executives to validate labor and material costs each month
Recognize revenue inconsistency
Provide professional assistance to vendors and customers regarding all aspects of the billing process
Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to company policies
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or related field
Strong knowledge of AR billing processes and practices
Familiarity with GAAP principles
Proficient in using accounting software for data entry and reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent math skills, attention to detail, and intermediate/advance Excel knowledge for accurate record keeping
Strong organizational skills
Preferred
Existing notary public a plus
Construction accounting a strong plus
