PBS North Carolina is seeking a Senior Postproduction Editor to work closely with network directors in assembling recorded audio and video material into polished programs for broadcast. The role involves managing multiple projects, providing technical assistance, and collaborating with various departments to ensure high-quality content production.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the network directors in making creative and technical decisions in assembling recorded audio and video material using professional broadcast equipment and software
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Provide technical and editorial assistance to other staff members
Troubleshoot technical problems and provide guidance to help produce the best possible story
Collaborate and plan between departments
Manage deadlines and deliverables to external and internal stakeholders
Provide feedback and recommendations for hardware and software purchases as they pertain to postproduction

Qualification

Adobe Premiere ProBroadcast equipment knowledgeVideo editingAfter EffectsPhotoshopIllustratorTechnical troubleshootingStorytellingAttention to detailCollaborationProject management

Required

High school diploma or equivalency
One year of experience related to the area of assignment in a broadcast television, radio and emerging media environment
Masterful storyteller creating engaging and compelling narratives in multiple formats
Complete understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro or similar professional editing software
Proven track record of editing video content for emerging platforms in a timely manner
Knowledge of a wide array of professional broadcast equipment such as waveforms, audio mixers, routers, and video switchers
Ability to troubleshoot and critically view waveform information to meet national broadcast standards and FCC regulations
Attention to detail and mastery of spelling & punctuation
Ability to collaborate and plan between departments
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Responsible for managing deadlines and deliverables to external and internal stakeholders
Providing technical and editorial assistance to other staff members
Technical knowledge and skills to troubleshoot technical problems and provide guidance
Ability to diagnose problems and provide solutions
Ability to provide feedback and recommendations for hardware and software purchases as they pertain to postproduction

Preferred

Knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator
