Instructional Designer
Convergenz is a company seeking an Instructional Designer on a contract basis. The role involves planning, designing, and developing high-quality learning materials and programs that align with organizational goals and enhance employee performance, while collaborating closely with business units and training partners.

Responsibilities
Plan and manage instructional design projects and initiatives within a business unit and/or across the organization
Develop instructional courses tailored to meet desired learning outcomes and learner needs
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement strategies that improve employee performance
Advise and assist trainers on course evaluation results
Collaborate with others to plan and design courses and curricula; ensure accuracy of content and test multimedia elements
Conduct needs assessments to provide customized training or performance improvement solutions
Create and edit LMS learning activities; set up training assignments and create custom LMS reports
Create dynamic instructional and training materials using current technologies, references, and support tools
Develop and test course content, training games, graphic designs, and other technology-driven products
Develop classroom, online, and self-paced learning content that drives knowledge transfer and behavior change
Develop instructional strategies and courses for business unit and cross-company products and skills
Evaluate the effectiveness of courses, learning products, and delivery methods
Participate in instructional design project teams with multiple deliverables, significant risk, and complexity
Select the most effective instructional approach, including blended instructor-led and self-directed techniques
Select, modify, or establish design and development models appropriate for each project
Analyze learning needs and assist in establishing learning objectives
Train internal team members on effective use of classroom materials, including ILT and VILT
Validate and integrate feedback, assessments, and course evaluations into current and new training content
Conduct presentations for various groups, including leadership
Refresh and maintain training materials throughout their lifecycle
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
2–4 years of instructional design or curriculum development experience or equivalent education
Advanced knowledge of instructional design processes (including ADDIE and SAM) and adult learning theory
eLearning design experience
Proficiency in Articulate Rise and Storyline
Experience converting instructor-led training to self-paced formats
Experience evaluating the effectiveness of courses, learning products, and delivery methods
Experience researching and writing course content and/or developing courses, demonstrations, graphics, and technology-driven products
Advanced knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, and instructional tools and resources
Working knowledge of instructional design for products, processes, and/or skills training
Ability to adapt to fluctuating workload
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to compile, organize, and present information clearly and concisely
Ability to translate complex processes and requirements into easily understood content
Strong collaboration skills with internal and external partners
Strong communication skills across all organizational levels
Strong skills in assessing training needs and researching topics for course development
Ability to interact tactfully and effectively in difficult situations
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
