Trade Compliance Analyst

This role manages global import/export activities, ensures trade compliance, and supports efficient international shipping operations.

Responsibilities

Coordinate international shipments and maintain trade compliance (USHTS, EPA, HTS updates).Communicate with overseas HQ (Japan), brokers, forwarders, and carriers to resolve documentation and shipment issues
Lead international trade and process‑improvement projects
Negotiate freight rates and analyze shipping costs
Provide Japanese/English translation support
Arrange air/ocean export shipments and manage returnable pallet programs
Support EDI transmissions, insurance claims, and CTPAT requirements
Monitor order progress and respond to customer logistics inquiries
Maintain data records, reports, and documentation (ISO, Certificates of Origin)
Support warehouse operations, captive accounts, and cross‑departmental initiatives

Required

Advanced knowledge of import/export regulations and trade compliance
Japanese language proficiency required (speaking, reading, writing)
Strong English communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
Proficiency in MS Office
Ability to travel as needed
Associate degree or equivalent required
5+ years of international logistics experience, including import/export coordination and familiarity with U.S. trade regulations
