Traffic Master

Orange County Government is dedicated to serving the public with integrity and professionalism. The Traffic Master role involves overseeing vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the Convention Center, executing transportation plans, and ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Executes transportation plans developed by the Supervisory team
Patrols Orange County internal roadways to enforce parking and lane restrictions
Checks-In and provides daily briefings to all Prime Time and contracted staff
Distributes equipment to staff
Oversees taxi, rideshare and hotel shuttle operations
Assists in the preventive and normal maintenance of the OCCC Transportation Section’s vehicles (to include pre and post service inspections)
Responsible for all transportation related equipment including placement of cones, barricades and leased equipment
Communicates (liaises) with contracted service agencies (i.e. Hired Transportation Groups, City Nights Valet, etc)
Monitors and assists with the programming of the Center’s Dynamic Message Signs
Monitors traffic light performance within Convention Center district
Makes regular tour of Convention Center roadways listing all irregularities observed
Enforces safety in the work place policies and regulations
Lifts/carries heavy traffic devices and other related items
Operates county vehicles and golf carts
Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards
Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned

Qualification

Required

High school or equivalent and one year of experience working in traffic, parking, valet service, taxi operations, shuttle bus service coordination, directing vehicles, or other related positions
Valid Florida Driver's License
Complete the Orange County Defensive Driving course within six months of hire
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Preferred

Knowledge of convention center operations
