Responsibilities

The Associate Director, Patent Operations, is a strategic leader within the Patent Practice Area, driving innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence
Partnering closely with practice leadership and attorneys/agents, this role ensures that patent operations, resources, and processes align with the firm’s strategic goals
The Associate Director oversees key operational functions, leads cross-office initiatives, and implements long-term plans to enhance quality, consistency, profitability, and client service delivery

Required

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of (10) years of experience in patent operations and at least (5) years in a leadership/management capacity
Knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution processes, docketing systems, and patent operations infrastructure
Demonstrated experience in building and scaling operational systems for large patent prosecution teams
Proficient in IP docketing and data management platforms, including EFS, PAIR, EPAS, WIPO, and PTO Financial Manager
Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in a complex, fast-paced environment
Ability to lead through change, inspire high performance, and foster a collaborative, high-trust culture

Preferred

advanced degree or project management certification (e.g., MBA, PMP, Lean Six Sigma)
