The Texas Attorney General's Office is seeking a Project Manager for their Child Support Division to coordinate project planning and execution. The role involves leading project teams, managing communication with stakeholders, and ensuring project success through effective planning and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Coordinates the planning and initiation of projects at various levels of completion; monitors the progress and schedule of projects; and communicates with project stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties
May assign duties and responsibilities and coordinate the work of project staff
Leads cross-functional project teams, including but not limited to: providing guidance, making assignments, and monitoring project progress to ensure timely completion of tasks to meet customer needs and expectations; manages the work of project team members; and maintains techniques to encourage communication among and across project teams, fostering good decision-making
Communicates with project team members, executive sponsors, stakeholders, and internal/external customers to plan and implement project activities, resolve issues, report status, and ensure project success; creates and follows project communication plans that include key roles and responsibilities; prepares meeting agendas and documents results; attends various Child Support Division project meetings to stay informed and updated on issues that may impact projects; prepares and delivers presentations and/or executive briefings for executive management; communicates with project team members to maintain knowledge on key issues and assigned tasks; and communicates project status, both in writing and in meetings, to project team
Coordinates, creates, reviews, and monitors project work plans, schedules, budgets, status reports, risk management plans, communication plans, and other project deliverables, according to the established project management methodology and software development lifecycle; uses technical knowledge of computer and information systems in planning and managing software development projects
Identifies, tracks, and resolves project problems and issues; ensures appropriate staff are involved in decision-making and that issues are escalated to project owners, stakeholders, and executive management, as appropriate; and documents and communicates issues and their resolutions to project team, stakeholders, and other interested parties
Oversees or performs advanced business analysis work, including analyzing and/or modeling business processes and needs to define and test business requirements for system development projects or procurements; conducts surveys or feasibility studies; and produces comprehensive reports on findings
Performs related work as assigned
Maintains Relevant Knowledge Necessary To Perform Essential Job Functions

Required

Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; experience in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis: business analysis, Child Support Program, or project management
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: business analysis, Child Support Program, or project management
Knowledge of project management techniques and strategies
Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies
Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
Skill in effective oral and written communication
Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)
Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel
Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA
Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs
Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 5%
Experience: One (1) additional year of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: business analysis, Child Support Program, or project management

Preferred

Experience: 2 years Child Support Program
Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Agile Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification
